Sri Lanka is, for most, pretty far away. However, the stay is fairly cheap. We invite you early so you can easily plan for a resonably-priced Sri Lanka-holiday!
We have decided to have the wedding in October, not just to make sure we don’t melt in the heat, but also because the lower cost related to the travel, while also having fantastic weather!
-
If you reasearch different pages, you will see that September and October can be wet months. Do not worry! Despite it’s small size the difference in climate is extreme.
In September (if you go for an early travel) & Early October - you will experience peak season in East and North. While when the rain starts pouring in the East, the South & West parts of Sri Lanka will have better weather.
-
The most important for us is that you come to our celebration. After and before, you are free to enjoy the surrounding area as well as the rest of Sri Lanka.
From Batticaloa and its surrounding areas, there are fantastic sights to see:
There are three national parks nearby with wildlife & nature worth looking at.
Enjoy the beautiful beaches just north of Batticaloa. These areas were affected by the tsunami over 20 years ago but have since been rebuilt to offer a wonderful tourist experience.
We also encourage you to explore further afield. In the north, it is peak surfing season. Colombo offers a proper city holiday with a modern urban atmosphere and beaches close by.
To the south, you can discover stunning landscapes, while the central region boasts even more breathtaking natural beauty.
There are few limits to what you can experience here, all within a short distance.
-
To get to Batticaloa, you can either go by train from Colombo, rent a car with or without a driver.
The infrastructure is good.
Beware of Elephants in the road.
Reach out if you need any help:)

We’re sending out invites in good time so that you can make an early and higher-value flight. Being in Sri Lanka is cheap.
Much like other places some locations can be expensive. With Hotel East Lagoon you get a good-value stay in Batticaloa.
Things are usually very cheap, but some places can have “Tourist prices” which are specific to tourists. This is the case for many of the most popular tourist attractions.
